About
Perhaps to tell you the story of who I am, I would invariably have to invoke the city that put this feminine body to my soul—the rumbling, dancing, reverberating city of Varanasi in the north of India. Growing up on this land that holds the heaviness and grace of thousands of years of thought, poetry, and the most colorful, sacred philosophies around the origins of man, I had come to accept that my expression in this world had to come from a place that held all of these elements in great honor and reflection.
My travels through my later years both within the physical world and the one beyond brought me closer to cultivating a sense of who I am and who I am not. Becoming wholly human is a sacred practice, isn’t it? One that requires you to shed, and shed, and keep letting go of all that you’ve let settle like dust all over your conscience. This process never ends and that’s the most beautiful part. You just learn to dance through it all stumbling upon exquisite discoveries along the way.
My artwork, therefore, attempts to honor the flow of change, the grace of intuition, the beauty of surrender, the trust within the life that runs through your body, and the ingenuity of creativity in all its magnificent attempts at explaining it all.
The eyes I paint tell stories of the mystery that is consciousness and of spiritual transformations that follow in the wake of mindful awareness and a commited meditation practice.
